The 2015 Leadership Lincoln class, under the sponsorship of the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce, is working on a civic improvement project entitled “Lincoln Lending Hands.”

For that project, the Leadership class has chosen to aesthetically improve the exterior of the historic Mary Beermann house at 540 F Street in Lincoln. The house currently serves as the offices of the Lincoln Chamber.

The Leadership class has two project goals: to paint the house’s exterior and to re-landscape the yard. All of the painting and painting supplies will be provided by Cooks Custom Painting of Lincoln.  The landscaping portion will include an updated watering system, re-barking the area, and plantings. The new landscape was designed by Gabriel Hydrick, our own Lincoln City Council Member.

Also, in coordination with Jean Cross, the artistic director of the Art League of Lincoln, the Leadership class will resurface a portion of the Beermann house’s side yard that faces a walkway. The work will be done to create public access to artist Ray Gonzales’s mural, “The Gift.”

Along with volunteers and donations from local businesses, the 12 members of the Leadership class will hold a workday on April 25th, 2015 to complete the painting and landscaping.

Donations of materials and supplies are needed for the project. If you would like to donate or if you have any questions, please call the Chamber at 916.645.2035.
