How We Give You Great Networking Opportunities

ORIENTATION
No Charge

We start by giving you an opportunity to introduce yourself and meet other new members when you come to find out about your member benefits at our monthly Chamber Orientation.

Monthly Breakfast
$18 to $20

The Chamber’s Monthly Breakfast Meeting is a deal at only $18 for Members and $20 for Non-Members. (A pre-paid reservation is required). Not only do you get a great breakfast, you’ll have lots of opportunities to hand out your business card – or place it on the Networking table. At this meeting, you’ll hear the latest announcements and we usually have a guest speaker to fill you in on topics that are important to you as a member of the Lincoln business community. We introduce new members, and frequently we incorporate a fun networking exercise designed to help you break the ice with a person you don’t know. (State of the City and Installation & Annual Awards Breakfasts’ are $25 for Members and $30 for Non-Members.)

NetMix (Mixers)
$100

Did you know that some Chambers charge for their mixers? So far we don’t, so take advantage of a chance to meet a new potential customer or colleague at the next Chamber mixer!

NetMixes are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at one of our Members’ business locations. There is no charge to the guest, however there is a fee to host a mixer. If you do not have a ‘store-front’ we have optional locations available at no charge.  (To host a mixer, call the Chamber office for details.)
As a NetMix Host, you will receive (1) Free E-Blast and (1) Hot Sheet insert. You can use these anytime throughout the year. (The Chamber will advertise the mixer for you.)

How We Work To Create a Strong Local Economy

WE DON’T JUST WANT OUR MEMBERS TO BE SUCCESSFUL, WE DEPEND ON IT!

Who wouldn’t want to live and work where the economy is thriving? When our members are doing well, so are we, and that’s why a top priority is ensuring that our local economy is strong.

REPRESENT LOCAL BUSINESS INTERESTS

We represent local business with the City’s Economic Development Council, and continually look for ways in which we can positively impact business and the economy in the Lincoln area.

How We Promote Our Community, and You!

THE LINCOLN AREA COMMUNITY

Even though the face of the Lincoln community is ever-changing we are proud that again, our members told us in our most recent survey that they feel the Lincoln Chamber does a great job of promoting our community. And we plan to continue doing a great job! You become a beneficiary of community promotion activities because you are part of the Lincoln business community.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Most people like to have fun, and let’s face it…community events are supposed to be fun! The Lincoln Area Chamber helps put that fun together with our 4th of July Parade, Holiday Parade, Shopper’s Festival, Showcase of food & Spirits, just to name a few. Whether you’re an event volunteer, or a participant, you benefit by expanding your potential business network through the people you meet and associations you form. All while having fun!

LINCOLN ALL AMERICA CITY

In 2005, prior to being selected by the NCL as a finalist, a group of dedicated citizens spent almost 30-months preparing for the program. This is the second year that Lincoln was selected as a finalist, narrowly missing an opportunity to win the award in 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia. “We came close to winning last year,” said Roger Ueltzen the co-chair for the project. “We learned a lot about the application process and what the judges are looking for from presenting cities. We were much more confident we had a stronger application and presentation in 2006.”

The All-America City Award encourages and recognizes civic excellence, honoring communities in which citizens, government, business and nonprofit organizations demonstrate successful resolution of critical community issues. Since 1949, more than 4,000 communities have competed and nearly 500 have been designated All-America Cities.

The winning communities for 2006 are (in alphabetical order by state):

Lincoln, California; Longmont, Colorado; Sarasota County, Florida; Marietta, Georgia; Kansas City, Missouri; Columbus, Ohio; Maumee, Ohio; Richland County, South Carolina; DeSoto, Texas; and Pharr, Texas.

How We Talk to Government For Business

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Through the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee, we represent local business with City, County, State, and Federal government entities. One example is participation in the annual Chamber Capitol-to-Capitol trip to Washington D.C. where, in 2006, the South Placer region was represented by nearly 100 delegates to talk to legislators on water, air, and transportation issues.

REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF BUSINESS WITH GOVERNMENT

We take a position on issues and represent local business with the City of Lincoln, Placer County and other government agencies. We continually look for ways in which we can positively impact the Lincoln area business community.
